                     The Artist

Violet creates art that has a romantic and impressionistic atmosphere of beauty and tranquility ... in her landscapes, scenes of women in hats and flowing dresses, and paintings of children.

       

   A  favorite  subject  has  always  been dogs,

pet  portraits  or  painted  into  a   landscape.

Whether working in traditional oils and watercolor or in her digital studio, the subjects she portrays radiate with light and color. 

Violet's paintings have been commissioned for portraits, prints, greeting cards and CD's.  Her watercolors have been displayed in international juried shows by the Allied Artists of America, the San Diego Watercolor Society, and the American Watercolor Society.  Her works have been exhibited in galleries and museums in New York City, California, the Pacific Northwest, as well as in Japan and Germany, and are in many private and business collections.

Violet lives and works in the Pacific Northwest, in a home and studio designed and built by her husband. They have two Afghan Hounds, who fill the 'empty nest' ... and who are always  frolicking or napping nearby ... and have become the subjects of many of Violet's paintings and photographs.
