This is my studio.
It's where I paint in oil and watercolor, set up my  photography lights and backdrop for photo-shoots, work on various projects, sew, make jewelry, work on the computer, make gifts, scrapbook, and  keep all my art books and things that inspire me.
I refinished all of the furniture on this wall.  The 2 tall cabinets came from a shop that went out of business.  The 2 middle cabinets are old watch repair cabinets from the 1940's. The one on the left was my father-in-law's, who had it made.  He and his wife had a jewelry store and watch repair business for 30 years. I love all the drawers!  I plan to paint some images on it as I did with the one next to it that I found at an antique shop a few years ago.  They have a total of 25 drawers!
My husband made my great computer desk.
The cabinet is a thrift shop find ... inside is an old Singer sewing machine that still works.  Next to it is my oil painting easel.
I hung these glittery letters in the high windows ...  I'm reminded each time I come in here to Create Beauty!
I found the Chandelier in one of my favorite shops .  It is in the shape of branches and leaves with birds.
I love beautiful hats!
I decorate my studio with them and enjoy wearing them.
I have not always had such a spacious and beautiful studio in which to work.  I've painted on the kitchen table and in basements that were more like a storage room.  I feel truly blessed to have this wonderful space and am enjoying it to the full!  But I enjoyed painting and creating beauty just as much even when my surroundings were not so fabulous!

My husband designs homes for a living and designed this one that we built, and created this beautiful studio for me.  It has 8' tall double glass-paned doors that open to the entry and great room  As I sit here writing this, our 2 Afghan Hounds are sleeping on the floor, who are the subjects of many of my paintings.  Please visit my Blog for more ramblings...

The file cabinet was
an old metal black
one that I painted.

2 drawers are for files and 2 are for storing
more art supplies.
